Emergency Respondees Assist 73 Year Old Resident

Public safety agencies responded to a 2:23 PM report of a report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of the United States Post Office on Washington Street.

Upon arrival of emergency responders, the driver of a vehicle which had struck a tree was on the ground, being attended to by bystanders.  Based on an initial assessment of the woman's injuries, at 2:31 PM Fire Chief Michael Cassidy requested a helicopter to transport the patient to a trauma center.  EMTs from the Holliston ambulance and paramedics from Events EMS stabilized the 73 year old resident, and transported her to the nearby landing zone adjacent to Village Plaza.  At 2:54 PM, the helicopter was safely at the landing zone, which had been secured by Engine 4.  Care of the patient was transported to the crew of Boston MedFlight, which lifted off the ground at 3:04 PM for a transport to Boston Medical Center.  The crash is under investigation by the Holliston Police Department.
