Holliston Dancing Arts Center Dancers Accepted at Prestigious Programs
Four students of the Dancing Arts Center have been accepted into nationally known summer programs this summer. Most dancers auditioned each weekend in January in both Boston and New York, as companies from across the country held auditions for acceptance into their “summer intensives.” Getting a different perspective and feedback from new instructors is helpful for all the dancers; therefore, Dancing Arts Center helps its students decide when and where it might be appropriate for them to dance during the summer break.
Krystyana Greaves, 15, of Ashland, a day student at the Dancing Arts Academy, will be dancing at Alvin Ailey in New York City for 5 weeks. Krystyana has been a student at the Dancing Arts Center since she was 4 years old and has been attending the Dancing Arts Academy since she was 11 years old. This will be Krystyana’s first experience in a summer intensive dance program.
Jill Guidara, 16, from Upton, is a student at Upton High School. Jill plans to study at the 3 week long Cincinnati Ballet Summer Intensive program in Ohio. This is Jill’s first experience in a summer intensive dance program. Daena Bortnick, 15, of Framingham, a student at the Dancing Arts Academy since 2002, decided to study at the Houston Ballet for their 3-week summer intensive program. She will also be attending the DAC summer workshop after she returns from Houston.
